Pep Guardiola is pleased with how his Manchester City side have started their defence of the Premier League title after winning 10 from a possible 12 points, scoring 11 goals in the process.
Man City narrowly defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to add to their 2-0 opening weekend win at Arsenal and the 6-1 mauling of Huddersfield Town in their opening home game of the campaign.
The Cityzens did have to come from behind as they were held 1-1 at newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out though, but Guardiola has suggested that his players are yet to reach their best condition.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Guardiola praised his squad.
To start with 10 points from 12 is a good start for us, step by step we will get our best condition. After the international break, the season starts with the Champions League, Carabao Cup, the kids go back to school and there will be order in our lives.
City now sit in fourth behind Liverpool, Chelsea and Watford – all have made 100% starts to the new season – and host Fulham next once the international break is over and done with.
Guardiola will be hoping that his key stars avoid injuries while representing their nations over the next week or so before their mission to become the first club to retain the title since 2011 continues.
