The knee injury Belgian suffered against Everton in the League Cup semi-final in 2016 saw him miss around two months’ of action.

The 27-year-old is one of the Premier League’s star performers and City will be hoping that the injury isn’t too serious.
Despite having a lot strength in depth in the squad, De Bruyne is arguably the club’s best player and an extended absence would have an impact on the team.
If the injury is similar to the one he picked up against Everton, he could be out until mid-October at the earliest, although no time frame, in terms of a return date, is known at this time.
