Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been charged by The FA for wearing a political message, “specifically a yellow ribbon, in breach of The FA’s kit and advertising regulations.”
Guardiola has been wearing a yellow ribbon as a show of support for the imprisoned activists and politicians who campaigned for Catalan independence in 2017, but displaying such political messages is against FA rules.

The Man City boss was born in Santpedor, a small town in central Catalonia, so the issue of independence is one close to his heart, and his support for the cause looks like it has seen him fall foul of the FA.
Guardiola has often worn the ribbon whilst at pitch side, which the FA say is in breach of regulations.
According to Richard Conway of the BBC, the FA have issued the City boss with two formal warnings, but he has essentially ignored those. After Guardiola wore the ribbon on the sideline as his side faced Wigan in the FA Cup, the FA decided to charge him.
Guardiola has until 6pm on Monday, 5th March to respond to the charge
