Manchester City’s dream of winning a quadruple is over after they lost 1-0 to Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, thanks to a goal from Will Grigg.
The two teams had gone in at half-time with the game still goalless, however, Manchester City weredown to ten men after Fabian Delph was sent off my Anthony Taylor for a high tackle on Max Power.
It originally looked like the referee was going to book Delph but something changed his mind and he put the yellow card away and brought the red card out.
Both managers, Pep Guardiola and Paul Cook, were then caught arguing on the sidelines and that continued down the tunnel as cameras captured the two shouting and gesturing at each other at half-time.
Before that, both sides had chances to take the lead but often, the final ball was lacking in quality for both sets of attackers and when it wasn’t, the finishes were not up to standard.

City made a change at half-time with Kyle Walker replacing Leroy Sane as Guardiola opted to keep his back for in tact, sacrificing a forward player. That decision by Guardiola didn’t seem to hurt City’s attack as they put a lot of pressure on Wigan, helped by the introduction of Kevin de Bruyne.
Wigan defended really well, making plenty of blocks and tackles, but they weren’t able to mount any attacks of their own to give their back four any rest bite, until the 78th minute when Grigg scored his seventh FA Cup goal of the season.
The Northern Irish star capitalised on a mistake from Walker, who inexplicably let the ball roll under his foot, before cooly placing his strike into the bottom corner.
City piled on the pressure at the end but were unable to get an equaliser as Wigan once again proved to be a thorn in their side.
