Brazilian youngster identified as Fernandinho successor

Premier League Leaders, Manchester City have reportedly started working on a £30million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk attacking Midfielder Frederico Rodrigues, according to report from MCFCWatch.

The Brazilian midfielder, has been in quite a good form for the Ukranian Club, making a name for himself, in the Champions League Group F games, followed by his outstanding performance against Manchester City. Roberto Andrade, Manchester City insider for FootballPredictions.com, tipped Frederico Rodrigues a an important player for the future team in an early stage of his career.

Enough for City’s boss Pep Guardiola to give thought to making the 24-year-old a possible long-term replacement for Fernandinho. Now report cover that preparations are being made to sign the attacking midfielder, the deal is likely to push through in the summer rather than January, which would have been what the fans would expect, with the Citizens working with their agents for a possible transfer.

Fernandinho is currently in the possible best form of his career in the guard of Guardiola at the age of 32, which may not last for long, and Yaya Toure will be out of contract in the summer. Fernandinho, who is said to be on the verge of agreeing on a contract extension, but Guardiola seems to be keen on bringing in a young player to play in such important position for the City team.

Meanwhile, Fred is said to be on the radar of Europe’s top clubs, with Premier League rivals Manchester United leading the pack, amid interest from Arsenal. And Fred is likely to follow the footsteps of fellow country man Fernandinho, should he end up swapping Shaktar Donetsk for Manchester City.

If Fred unsurprisingly arrive at the Etihad Stadium this January which is less likely, he would be cup-tied in the Champions League after featuring for Shaktar in the same group as City.

The 24-year-old attacker told Brazilian press about playing for the Citizens: “I’m eagerly waiting for Guardiola’s phone call to arrive,” Fred said. “I think I would grow a lot with him. I can still grow.

“England is the best league in the world, I’ve always had the dream of playing there. It could suit me well. It would be important to play in England with one of the great coaches. It’s a dream I have.”

After going on a spending spree last summer for Bernando Silva, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Danilo, with the signings proving to be fruitful, Guardiola will be backed to sign any player when he wants. The Citizens will face Liverpool in their next game. According to Roberto Andrade and his premier league predictions Manchester City will remain unbeaten and continue leading the dance on the table.
