Five things we learned during City vs Tottenham (H)

Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening (16/12/2017) was one that was troubling Manchester City fans after last season’s catastrophic performance.

If you don’t remember, City were 2-0 up before Spurs came back and drew 2-2.

Many fans, journalists and pundits felt that this was the final test as to prove whether City are going to run away with the league this season and the 4-1 scoreline suggests they will.

The first half was amazing to watch, Pep Guardiola’s side were dominant throughout, however, Gundogan’s header to put City 1-0 up was the only reward despite countless chances to make it more.

However, the second half, City were not their usual selves.

Inaccurate passes allowed Spurs back into the match until a thunderbolt of a goal from De Bruyne made it 2-0 in the 70th minute.

Gabriel Jesus missed a penalty, but, Sterling carried on his stupendous run of form scoring two goals in 10 minutes.

Christian Eriksen scored a late consolation goal, but, City continue their record breaking run with 16 consecutive league wins under their belt.
