City tracking Barcelona youngster Ruiz

Manchester City are watching developments between Barcelona and youngster Abel Ruiz, who is available for as little as £3 million.

The Mirror reports that Barcelona have opened contract talks with the player to avoid losing him cheaply, but Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the player.

Ruiz is being tipped as one of the next to come through the ranks at Barcelona after impressing at the U-17 World Cup for Spain.

The youngster’s current deal expires in 2019 and Barcelona are keen to increase the release clause.

The report suggests that the player has made it clear he would like to remain with the Catalan side, but has doubts about his first-team chances going forward.

Ruiz could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique and Hector Bellerin in leaving Spain for the Premier League at a young age.
