Manchester City’s interest in Alexis Sanchez has been well documented, and the enigmatic forward is reportedly ready to take less money in an attempt to seal his move away from Arsenal.
According to the Independent this evening, the Chilean international is poised to turn down the contract offer on the table from Arsenal in an attempt to accelerate his preferred move to City, where he would reunite with former manager Pep Guardiola.
It’s stated in the report that Arsenal would be prepared to cough up a huge wage offer of £300,000 per week. However, Sanchez appears to have no intention of putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Instead, he would rather move on to different things at this stage of his career, with his 29th birthday coming near the end of the year.
Sanchez was superb for Arsenal last season and has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe.
