Manchester City have signed Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy on a five-year contract.
The deal was announced on the club’s website with the fee being £52m for the Frenchman.
This continues Pep Guardiola’s full back spending spree after signing Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Real Madrid’s Danilo.
The signing finally ends a series of cryptic social media posts from Mendy who was constantly teasing a move the Manchester club.

This signing continues to fill the holes by other defenders such as Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov who have now left the club.
Mendy has faced Pep Guardiola’s side before in the last 16 stage of the Champions League playing for Monaco where he impressed in both legs.
The French international will add some much-needed pace for City’s defence and with Walker playing right back, it should make for some exciting attacking football.
Manchester City are currently on a pre-season tour of America and their next match is against Real Madrid at The Coliseum in Los Angeles on 26th July.
