Manchester City are reportedly interested in a surprise move for Fenerbahce defender Martin Skrtel.
The experienced central defender has been linked with a move away from Turkey this summer and the latest club to be touted with his signature is City, rather surprisingly.
According to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, the Slovakian is a player that Pep Guardiola is keen to acquire in the near future as he looks to strengthen his defensive options.

Although Skrtel is reportedly happy to remain with Fenerbahce for the foreseeable future, a move to City would undoubtedly be financially tempting, and the prospect of a push for the Premier League title would be of interest.
Skrtel has been impressive for Fenerbahce since his move from Liverpool, and although it’d be an obscure signing from Guardiola, the powerful centre-back would provide experience and Premier League know-how.
Fanatik state that City would be willing to offer the defender a salary worth €4m per year, which is a significant improvement on his current deal in Turkey.
