After Manchester City scored their second goal during a 3-1 victory against Hull City yesterday, there was one player who was the focus.
Sergio Aguero tapped the ball into Hull’s net after a Pep Guardiola-style build up but his celebration was muted. Despite rumours of the Argentine leaving the club this summer, Guardiola stated after the match, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, that the striker is happy at the Etihad.
I promise you he was so happy. Sergio makes an amazing step forward in the last two months.
He is playing unbelievable, scoring one goal a game. I didn’t speak with him but I am pretty sure he is so happy. He is a guy who likes to score goals and he did it again.
Aguero’s future has been in doubt after Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus made his debut for the Citizens and showed some terrific form, forcing Aguero out of the starting line-up.
Despite the lack of appearances before Jesus suffered an injury against Bournemouth back in February, City are adamant that he will not be sold this summer.
Although Aguero may be regarded as something of a second choice now to the enigmatic Jesus at City, he is still a vital cog in the squad and Guardiola will be keen to keep hold of the forward.
