According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are confident in keeping young starlet Jadon Sancho, with a number of Premier League rivals interested in his qualities.
City are hopeful that Sancho will sign a new long-term contract, with upcoming league opponents Arsenal heavily linked with a move for him. Sancho is one of the best, upcoming players in City’s academy and has been called up by Pep Guardiola to train with the first-team.
City have opened contract negotiations ever since the Arsenal rumours began, with the club stating that the contract talks are progressing in a comfortable fashion.
Pep Guardiola said recently this month:
The club has worked a long time to build these players up so one day they can play at the Etihad Stadium.
Tottenham and Chelsea have also been linked with Sancho this summer, which has led to City to begin contract negotiations at a fast pace.
The club believes that the improved terms of a new contract will persuade Sancho to commit his future to City, rather than let him leave to a rival club, who would promise him a quicker route to first-team football.

City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak outlined his view of the future of the club, where academy players will be the focal point of the first team. Players like Sancho, Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz are seen to be the future descendants of the current first team.
