City tracking English quartet as Pep eyes homegrown core

Manchester City are reportedly tracking Spurs duo, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker, as well as Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere ahead of summer moves.

According to the Telegraph, Guardiola wants to add an English core to the Manchester City squad, who have often lacked homegrown talent in recent seasons.

Both Walker and Rose have been influential for Spurs and the way they want to play since Mauricio Pochettino took over at the club.

Pickford is considered as one of the rising stars in the game and has dislodged Vito Mannone as Sunderland’s number one, but faces relegated with the Black Cats this season.

The report suggests that the young shot-stopper will be sold if Sunderland do drop into the Championship.

Wilshere has impressed this season on loan at Bournemouth, after leaving Arsenal temporarily in the summer in search of regular first-team game time, with that now guaranteed at the Emirates.
