Manchester City-bound Gabriel Jesus has won the prestigious Bola de Ouro ahead of his January move to the Etihad Stadium.
Jesus helped Palmeiras to their first Brazilian Serie A league title in 22 years, scoring 12 goals in 27 games, and also earned his first international call-up during 2016.
The Bola de Ouro is Brazil’s equivalent to a Player of the Year award in England, and past winners include the likes of Neymar, Ronaldinho and Kaka.
The award caps off a superb year for the 19-year-old, who secured a big-money move to City in the summer and was an integral part of the Brazilian national team that won gold at the Olympic Games.
Jesus’ contribution to club football in 2016 can be viewed below. It’s time to get excited, City fans!
