According to the Manchester Evening News, City have been offered a deal for Juventus’ Italian international defender Leonardo Bonucci.
New City boss Pep Guardiola has been quoted as saying that Bonucci is one of his “favourite ever players” and is reportedly focused on improving his side’s defensive capabilities before the new Premier League season begins next month.

However, City’s reported £38 million bid for the defender has apparently been rebuffed by Juventus, who value the defender at about £50 million. Furtherly, City were approached by a third party with a view to securing a move for the defender this Summer.
Bonucci recently returned from international duty with the Italian national side at Euro 2016. He scored a penalty as the Italians were knocked out of the competition by Germany in the quarter-finals. He signed for Juventus in 2010, making over 198 appearances in six years with the ‘Old Lady’.
