Portuguese outfit FC Porto are looking rescue Eliaquim Mangala from his Manchester City nightmare by re-signing him this summer.
The 25-year-old has struggled for consistency since moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2014 and could be a victim of Pep Guardiola’s summer overhaul at the club.

Despite a promising start to life at City, Mangala fell out-of-favour under Manuel Pellegrini and dropped further down the pecking order at the Sportscity campus when Nicolas Otamendi was signed from Valencia last summer.
O Jogo, a Portuguese news outlet, reports that Mangala’s former club are now looking to bring the Frenchman back to the club.

The rumoured price is unknown, but it is thought to be substantially less than the £32m paid for him two years ago. City are willing to cut their losses on Mangala who, following the result of the EU referendum, is not eligible for a work permit.
Guardiola has lined up defensive replacements such as Everton’s John Stones but missed out number one target Aymeric Laporte, who signed a four-year contract extension with current club Athletic Bilbao.
