The EU referendum has been the topic of everyone’s conversation for the past few months and the day of voting is on Thursday.
There have been many advantages and disadvantages of leaving the EU named, but few have looked at it from a footballing perspective.
If Brexit did occur it would mean that a number of players would not automatically qualify for work permits because of the FA’s rules on the situation, which can be found here.
Brexit would also limit Premier League clubs’ transfer business outside the UK, with rules enforced meaning that players from countries further down in the FIFA rankings will be less likely to be awarded a work permit.
Not all of City’s foreign imports will be impacted, but some could be.
