Borussia Dortmund have slapped a £65m price tag on striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after reports suggested that Manchester City were in advanced talks to sign the prolific forward, according to the Daily Mirror.

City turned down the chance to sign Aubameyang from Saint-Etienne in 2013 for a fee of £10m but he has since netted 80 goals in 140 appearances and dethroned Yaya Toure as the African Footballer of the Year.
However, the Sky Blues are now understood to be willing to break their transfer record – £55m for Kevin De Bruyne last summer – in order to secure his services.

The Mirror reports that the Citizens have not responded to Dortmund’s valuation but are still very much interested in bringing Aubameyang to Manchester.
Incoming City manager Pep Guardiola is looking to innovate the squad in time for his first season in charge at the Etihad and has already recruited midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Dortmund.

Deals for centre-back pair Aymeric Laporte and John Stones are also believed to be close.
