Manchester City have signed Borussia Dortmund midfielder llkay Gundogan on a four-year deal.
Gundogan becomes Pep Guardiola’s first major signing ahead of his first season in Manchester after moving from Bayern Munich.
The deal is reportedly estimated to be around £20 million. Gundogan has been a long-term target for City and has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since it was announced on deadline day that Guardiola would be joining.

Gundogan first joined Dortmund back in 2011 from fellow Bundesliga side, FC Nurnberg and has since become a key member of their midfield. He was part of the team that lost to Bayern Munich in the final of the Champions League back in 2013.
He currently has 16 international caps to his name, as well as being capped at every youth level from U18s to U21s for his native Germany.
City announced the signing at 9am on Thursday morning, with Gundogan almost confirming it himself by tweeting ‘Announce Gundogan’ from his own Twitter page.
He said: “I am thrilled to have signed for Manchester City. When I learned of City’s interest my heart was set on coming here and things have moved very quickly.”
“The opportunity to work with a coach like Pep Guardiola is something I am really looking forward to and I am flattered to be the first signing the club has made this summer.”
Even though the midfielder is out of Euro 2016 with a dislocated knee, it is thought his recovery is ahead of schedule and he will return to action as early as August.
