Manchester City defender Jason Denayer could return back to Turkey next season, according to Turkish Football.
The 20-year-old Belgian has been on loan at champions Galatasaray since the start of the season having impressed for Celtic two seasons ago, where he also won the league with the Scottish club.
His loan was met with raised eyebrows from many sections of the Blues’ support after his superb performances north of the border, and was tipped to return for last season’s campaign but was instead shipped out on loan again, with Martin Demichelis providing the cover in defence.
With the veteran Argentine almost certainly leaving this summer, it is hoped the Belgian, who has already represented his country, would finally return as Pep Guardiola takes the helm, but various media outlets in Turkey report that the Spaniard is yet to decide whether he will be using Denayer’s services next season.

In a campaign in which Galatasaray clinched the double, Denayer set up the winning goal as the Turkish side triumphed in the cup last week, and he has become a first-team regular for them this season. His ability to adapt to all of the squads he has joined up with has not gone unnoticed by City fans, but it remains to be seen whether he will return anytime soon.
When asked whether he would consider staying in Eastern Europe, Denayer said:
Galatasaray and Manchester City will have to agree on that; it is not a decision I can make. They would have to agree first.
City remain keen on both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte so another loan for Denayer could well be on the cards, but with Kompany’s track record with injuries, a deal to finally establish the young Belgian as a City player must not be ruled out either.
