Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told the City hierarchy that he needs £200m to successfully complete an overhaul of the squad in the next two transfer windows, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
Guardiola is planning on recruiting at least eight new players for his tenure at the Etihad but believes that it will take more than just the summer transfer window to repair the cracks in the Sky Blues’ team.

The Bayern boss is said to currently see just Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, and potentially Vincent Kompany (depending on his fitness) as starters in his ideal team and the rest of the squad’s long-term future are in doubt.

Although he is set to encourage the progression of youth academy players and is aiming to sign a host of homegrown talent, Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling appear to be candidates for a departure in the next 12 months.
Players, such as Everton centre-back John Stones, Tottenham and England full-back Danny Rose and out-of-favour Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, have been touted as potential homegrown signings for the summer.

Guardiola is also looking into the possibility of signing Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte having all-but secured a deal for Borussia Dortmund holding midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
