Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini was offered the chance to remain at the club and work under Pep Guardiola next season when the Spaniard was offered the job in February, according to the Daily Mirror.

Pellegrini was also offered his choice of club to manage within the City Football Group but snubbed both offers – citing his reason as wanting to continue managing at a top level, preferably in the Premier League.
The City hierarchy were hoping to use the 62-year-old expertise of managing in non-European countries with their teams in North America, Australia and Japan.

The Chilean, however, looks likely to remain in England next season with a different club.
Both Everton and Watford have been identified as potential destinations for Pellegrini, with Roberto Martinez and Quique Sanchez Flores coming under increasing pressure in recent weeks.

The Mirror also reports that ex-Real Madrid coach has received offers from clubs in Spain, Russia, China and South America.
