Manuel Pellegrini has ruled out the possibility of Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany playing against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night but insists that Nicolas Otamendi is ‘ok’ to play.

Kompany has been sidelined since mid-March when a recurrence of a calf injury forced him off of the field in City’s Champions League Round of 16 tie with Ukranian champions Dynamo Kiev.

The news means that Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala, who have partnered each other for the last three games, are expected to be City’s centre-back pairing.
In order to progress to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in their history, City must draw either 0-0 or 1-1 or win the match at the Etihad Stadium.
