Long-term Manchester City target Mats Hummels has put several Premier League clubs on high alert after admitting that he could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports from Goal.
Contracted until the end of June, Hummels, 27, has just a few months left on his current deal at the German giants, and has been monitored by the major English sides , including City, for a considerable amount of time.
And with a major re-shuffle expected in the summer with the imminent arrival of Pep Guardiola, the prospect of Hummels resolving the Blues’ injury crisis seems likely, despite the stiff competition. He admitted to German media outlet Bild.
I don’t necessarily want to [leave], but I have to make a big decision. I have been back and forth a lot.
Age gives you a feeling that you don’t have forever to win. I realise in every year I don’t win a title, I’m closer to retiring.

Vincent Kompany has been troubled by various calf injuries this season, and stand-in pair Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaqium Mangala have failed to convince anyone that they are up to the task of filling in for the Belgian, meaning a move for the German international could well be on the cards.
I’ve spoken to Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan over their thoughts. The Champions League is a target for me in any case. I want to win this title.
The news comes shortly after City’s pursuit of Hummels’ current team-mate, Ilkay Gundogan, gathered pace after the two clubs were said to be in ‘advanced negotiations’ over the transfer of the German international.
