Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure will either leave the club on a free transfer in the summer or pay City compensation for the final 12 months of his contract in order to leave, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The first option – leaving the club on a free transfer – would reportedly see Toure make a promise to not join another Premier League team, but the latter – paying the club compensation for the final 12 months of his contract – would allow him to move to any club of his choice.

The Ivorian has been integral for the Sky Blues since his arrival in 2010 and has implanted himself in the club’s history by scoring numerous goals of significance, including an FA Cup Final winner and the equalising goal in a 3-1 Capital One Cup Final triumph over Sunderland.
Toure currently earns a salary in the region of £230,000 and would be able to buy-out his contract for £12m.

Rumours linking Toure with a departure from the club have been fuelled in recent weeks by his agent, Dimitri Seluk, who says that the club have treated him badly.
