Manchester City midfielder David Silva is playing through the pain barrier, reports Goal.
The Spaniard has had difficulty with his ankle for a considerable period now and it has been revealed that he is taking pain-killing injections to allow him to continue to play in a crucial period for the Blues.
Silva has been struggling in recent weeks and has come under rare criticism from his own fans. But with an already stacked injury list, City’s No.21 is fighting through the pain.
After starting the season in promising fashion, he suffered an injury during the dreaded international break and was sidelined for seven weeks. He is yet to rediscover his normal form but has been having significant trouble with his ankle – Pellegrini revealing in February that the problem was ongoing.

He returned to Spain after the disappointing defeat to Leicester and was expected to miss the home game with Spurs though he did feature in a narrow 2-1 loss.

Though the medical staff have been treating the 29-year old, it is thought that he may need a spell on the sidelines to ease the pain – that may arrive when both Samir Nasri and Kevin De Bruyne return to action.
