Following on from their dismal showing at Anfield against Liverpool on Wednesday, Manchester City must bounce back against bottom club Aston Villa, who have won just three games this season.
The Blues have met the Villains on two occasions already this season, playing out a 0-0 draw in Remi Garde’s first game in charge, before Kelechi Iheanacho inspired City to a 4-0 FA Cup win at Villa Park.
City are buoyed by the return of Yaya Toure, who missed the Liverpool defeat with a heel injury. Former Villa man Fabian Delph is sidelined for this one, as are Kevin De Bruyne and Samir Nasri.
Pellegrini may well look to ring the changes after a tired, sluggish display in midweek – with no player coming out with any sort of credit.
So with a game against the league’s worst side surprisingly being a must-win game, how will City line up at the Etihad?
