Manchester City trained today ahead of the Capital One Cup showdown with Liverpool on Sunday.
City, fresh from their confidence-boosting win in Kiev in the Champions League, the Blues look to lift their first trophy of the season against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
They will be hoping for a repeat of events in 2013/14 campaign where City won the Capital One Cup and then went on to lift the Premier League title – ironically pipping Liverpool on the final day.
City players were in fine spirits and there were a number of returns in training as Jesus Navas, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony have all been declared available for selection.
More worryingly, though, Vincent Kompany, Raheem Sterling and Bacary Sagna all sat this one out and are still recovering from the win in Kiev. Pellegrini hopes that all three will be fit on Sunday.
