Manchester City and France international Bacary Sagna is set for a new deal with the North West club, after having impressed at right-back since the start of the season.
According to the Mail, the 32-year-old is set to extend his stay in Manchester by an extra 12 months, after having established himself as the Blues’ first choice right-back this season.
Signing from Arsenal on a free transfer 2 seasons ago, the ex-Gunner is in the last year of his £150,000-a-week contract. The extension would see Sagna stay at the club until the 2017/18 season.
Having played a bit-part role last season – he seized the chance to assert his place this year, with the injury of Pablo Zabaleta a major factor in him solidifying his place.
Sagna is said to have settled well in Manchester and is willing and ready to fight for his place once Pep Guardiola takes over the reigns this summer.
City play Spurs this Sunday at 4pm in a game which will take place after the other two title-challengers, including Sagna’s old club Arsenal, battle it out at the Emirates in the lunchtime kick-off.
