A Champions-like victory for Manchester City who showed, despite a lacklustre performance, that they could dig out the points when it really mattered. A game of few chances was settled by a Sergio Aguero strike on 16 minutes, which he poked home instinctively. City also managed to sustain a large amount of pressure, which is positive for them, after having come under large scrutiny for their defensive frailties recently.
The points are also a good reaction to the Pep Guardiola news that broke on Deadline Day, which does not seem to have affected the side adversely. With Leicester City winning again tonight, Saturday’s lunchtime clash against the Foxes is all the more important.
