After continued speculation over the future of Yaya Toure, manager Manuel Pellegrini has a message for him.
Toure’s outspoken agent Dmitri Seluk has stoked the fire recently by suggesting Yaya would consider all of his options in the summer, and the rumoured arrival of Pep Guardiola is also a potential issue for Toure.
Toure, who is expected to return to the starting line-up for Saturday’s game at West Ham, has been told this by his Chilean manager, who is only concerned about the present day and not what may happen further down the line.
He is quoted by the Daily Star as saying:
For Yaya, the most important thing is that he thinks about the next game.
At the end of the season anything can happen, but the most important thing is to think about this season and winning titles.
Pellegrini continued by imploring his side to go on the offensive in search of the Premier League crown.
Our mentality is always to be an attacking team and create chances. It’s the way we want to play and the best way for this team to win titles. We are the team that has scored the most goals and we must make sure this continues.
