Sky Sports News are reporting that Manchester City are interested in signing German Under-21 and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl in order to bolster Manuel Pellegrini’s side, in a season where they are still on for the quadruple.
The highly rated 20-year-old is also rumoured to be interesting Barcelona, who are also looking to win every trophy this season. The stylish midfielder would go a long way in reinforcing the middle of the park, an area which perhaps Manchester City need to improve, especially if they want to be challenging the very best in Europe.

Indeed, Yaya Toure still possess his moments of sheer quality, and Fernandinho has been an important figure, but with James Milner leaving in the summer and Fabian Delph not really improving the side, perhaps another midfielder is needed. All of the best sides need strength in depth, especially with the increasing competitive nature of the Barclays Premier League.
Sky Sports also claim that Pep Guardiola has attempted to sign Weigl before, and in the long-term, perhaps this would seem the ideal signing
