According to Manchester City midfielder Fernando, every game will be treated as a cup final from now until the end of the season. City are hoping to gain some momentum as they look to claim yet another Premier League title this year. Brazilian midfielder Fernando has challenged his teammates to go undefeated until the end of the season to clinch their second title in three years.
For us every single game will be a final from now on. The end of the season is approaching fast so we need to have a cup final spirit in every single game.
We need to win all of our games. It’s not a big gap but we wanted to win this game. We had two very important games at home and for us it was important to win them.
City currently sit third in the premier league, three points behind leaders Arsenal after they were held to a goalless draw at home to Everton on Wednesday night. Everton were lucky to leave Manchester with a draw after City were denied a last-minute penalty for a foul on Raheem Sterling. 28-year-old Fernando and his teammates will be hopeful that their luck changes as they host Crystal Palace on Saturday before their second leg tie against Everton in the Capital One Cup next Wednesday.
