City striker Wilfried Bony has been touted as a shock target for former club Swansea City, say the Daily Mirror.
The Swans sit just two points above the relegation zone and have struggled for goals this term, forcing them to turn their attentions to one of their former players in the shape of the Ivorian man.
Bony has ultimately struggled to hit the explosive sort of form that caused City to buy him one year ago, and the Welsh side believe they could tempt him back to his old employers, particularly if the £12 million departure of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to Crystal Palace is confirmed.
Despite Bony struggling for game time, the African has notched an impressive eight goals in 23 appearances for City this season, but has, on occasions, been unhappy by his role as the second striker behind Sergio Aguero.
It cannot be said whether City would allow Bony to return to his old club, particularly at a time when City have a striker shortage of their own with Aguero, despite recently returning, being subject to relative injuries this term leaving just Bony and youngster Kelechi Iheanacho to fill the attacking void.
Bony was signed for £28 million in January 2015 and has a contract with the Blues until 2019.
