With Pep Guardiola recently announcing his departure from Bayern Munich and City in a poor run of form, there are already calls from some fans to get rid of Pellegrini, then wait until the summer for Guardiola’s arrival.
However, City are not a club who tend to sack managers mid-season, the most recent example being Mark Hughes back in 2010 which many saw as unfair.
These calls for Guardiola are simply because of his track record with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but fans are not thinking about what he will bring to the club and what will set him apart from Pellegrini.
It also helps that Guardiola has strong relationship with Txiki Begiristain who was the director of football during Guardiola’s time at Barcelona before coming to Manchester City.

Youth players were seen as a positive aspect to Pellegrini’s management style, but despite a new academy and some promising young talent, Pellegrini does not seem to be wanting to play the new talent.
With the vast amount of financial resources, it has been very difficult for Pellegrini to integrate the youth players. Along with not wanting to damage the confidence of youth players, it is understandable as to why he has not ventured into the academy.
Guardiola is someone who is known for youth development, however, he will want to put his own mark on the team.
This may include removing a large number of first team players and promising academy players, all to serve his style of play.

Despite Guardiola’s success, his management style is not always perfect as sometimes his style of play can be undone.
This has been more evident with Bayern Munich with the shock losses to the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach a few weeks ago in the Bundesliga.
It is clear Guardiola’s tactics can have faults and City fans should be wary that sometimes matches will not go City’s way despite his impressive tactics.

Even though Guardiola has not been confirmed as manager of Manchester City, there are a lot of rumours that a deal with City has already been put in place and he will take the place of Manuel Pellegrini come May 2016.
If Guardiola does become City boss, expect a massive shake-up as he makes the team his own, this might result in some fan favourites leaving the club.
However, fans must be ready for some of the shock results that sometimes occur to Guardiola.
City fans should be very excited if the Spaniard does indeed arrive in May as it will be the start of a new era at Manchester City under Sheikh Mansour.
