After last week’s last-gasp victory over Swansea, City travel south to the capital to face an Arsenal side who are coming off the back of some confidence-building results during December. A slight wobble in November has been steadied, with solid wins against Sunderland and Aston Villa coming either side of completing a ‘great escape’ from their Champions League group.
It is sure to be a difficult test for City, who are looking to bring some stability of their own to proceedings. Troubling inconsistencies in the league has seen a perfect start diminish into obscurity. City are in need of some solidity, and revisiting the system that helped produce a superb performance and win in Seville last month may provide that.
In prospect of what will be a hard-fought battle at the Emirates on Monday night, we attempt to predict what City’s starting XI might look like when the team-sheets are finalised.
