Willy Caballero is confident that he can replace first-choice stopper Joe Hart, if the Englishman is ruled out for a lengthy period.
Joe Hart was substituted during the Juventus clash that was decided due to Mario Mandzukic’s first half goal, and the 28-year-old may is not fit to feature between the sticks against Southampton at the weekend according to Manuel Pellegrini. Although Hart has revealed the problem to be a minor one, Pellegrini has revealed in his press conference that he expects the former Shrewsbury goalkeeper to be out for around 10 days.
Pellegrini reveals that Joe Hart is out tomorrow and could be out for 10 days in total. Caballero to come in. #mcfc

Caballero, who arrived from La Liga side Malaga a season ago, has claimed that he will be ready, if the need arises. The last time he started in goal, City were routed 4-1 at White Hart Lane and the Argentine had received a lot of criticism.
Of course it is not good that Joe had to come off, but I have to be prepared – that is the life of a substitute goalkeeper. Next time I am needed to play 15 or 20 minutes I will be ready, whenever that might be, but, of course, we hope that Joe recovers. He is a goalkeeper of the very highest level and he is playing very, very well. It is a nice opportunity for me to play a couple of games consecutively. But that depends on how Joe is and then it is up to the manager. I will train and I will be ready.
Caballero is now in the frame to start against Southampton on Saturday, while veteran goalkeeper Richard Wright will make a rare appearance on the subs bench.
