Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has expressed his disappointment at Saturday evening’s 4-1 home loss to Liverpool.
The Chilean described his side’s performance as ‘disastrous’ as the Sky Blues went 3-0 down after half an hour. Star striker Sergio Aguero gave Pellegrini’s side hope before the break until Martin Skrtel sealed City’s fate with a late strike.
It was complete disaster, the whole team.
The former Malaga boss appeared dumbfounded by the heavy defeat and commented on how individuals were not to blame for the loss, but the whole team were.
I am more than angry. It is unbelievable the performance we had. I have never seen this team play in the way they did. It is difficult to understand why we should play so badly – not just one name but a complete team in defending or attacking possession.
Goalscorer Aguero addressed the defeat on Twitter but said he wanted to move on from it and focus on Wednesday night’s clash with reigning Serie A champions Juventus.
It wasn’t a good performance on our part, but I don’t blow wins or losses out of proportion. Now focused on Wednesday’s game. — Sergio Kun Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) November 21, 2015
