Former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has said when it comes to pledging an allegiance to one of his ex-Manchester clubs, he’s most definitely a blue over a red, report the M.E.N.
The former United and City striker told reporters that to see City go from “neighbours… to one of the big clubs in Europe” made him “proud”.
“I am a City fan” he went on to say.
Tevez, now back in his native homeland, recently won the Argentinian league with Boca Juniors – their 31st Primera Division to date.
Having signed for West Ham back in 2006, he moved on to play for Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side before making the famous switch across the city, where he was gleefully greeted with a “Welcome to Manchester” poster by Manchester City fans.
He had a large impact at the Etihad and won over fans in no time with a hatful of important goals and performances during his opening seasons. Notably a brace against United in the League Cup and goals against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal to note. He won an FA Cup, Premier League and Community Shield during his time at City.
He infamously took an unauthorised hiatus from the game after relations with Italian boss Roberto Mancini became frayed, but with his return came goals… and a title at that!
Having reached a Champions League final with Juventus last year and scored a plethora of goals for all three of his Premier League clubs, the Argentine has had what can only be described as a successful career – in which he has won titles, cups and secured a myriad of honours.
