Manchester City are set to go head-to-head with rivals Manchester United for highly-rated Belgian starlet Youri Tielemans, report The Daily Star.
The youngster, 18, currently plays for Anderlecht and has represented Belgium at Under-21 level. He made his Champions League debut at the tender age of 16 (the youngest Belgian ever to do so) and is already a first-team regular in the Anderlecht side; prompting a £30 million tug-of-war between the two Manchester clubs.
Tielemans is also tipped to break into the senior Belgium squad in the near future.
It is suggested United have been interested in the midfielder for over a year, with City only beginning to show admiration of late. They are both now keen to see how the situation at Tieleman’s current club progresses.
Tielemans would join fellow Belgian stars Kevin de Bruyne, Vincent Kompany and Jason Denayer if he was to make the switch to The Etihad; but the Blues have stern competition for his signature with Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona and Chelsea, along with United, also keeping tabs.
