City midfielder Jesus Navas says that his former club Sevilla will be in his heart forever, and mean everything to him.
In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Navas said that he has only good words for Manchester City, and is thankful for the gamble taken by the club in acquiring his services.
“Sevilla is everything to me in sporting terms,” The winger said. “It is where I was born and grew up as a player, but now I can only think of Manchester.
The Spaniard signed for City from the Spainish club in 2013 for a fee of £15m. He has made a total of 105 appearances since then, and chipped in with 7 goals. He has set up 26 for his team mates. He has featured in all of the leagues games for the club so far this season, and the only game in which he hasn’t played a part was the Champions League defeat to last years runners-up Juventus.
City will face his former club when they come up against them in the Champions League, and Navas says he is eagerly anticipating a return to his old stomping ground.
Now we play in Manchester, but the return to the Sanchez-Pizjuan will be awesome … it will be very special for me.
I gave everything for Sevilla, and always, always felt the affection of the fans – they are already in my heart forever.
