UPDATE: Aguero has himself said that he is likely to be out for around four weeks, while Sky Sports report that the Argentine could be looking at closer to eight weeks on the sidelines, which would undoubtedly be a huge blow in City’s title pursuit.
The club have confirmed via their official site that star striker Sergio Aguero has picked up a left hamstring injury while representing Argentina last night. Aguero featured in Argentina’s 2-0 loss to Ecuador for just 24 minutes before pulling up after chasing a long ball.

The forward was then stretchered off and was clearly in pain with tears in his eyes. The forward has been in good form great form this season scoring 8 goals in 11 games in all competitions. Argentina manager Gerardo Martino confirmed it isn’t the same injury that saw Aguero substituted the weekend against Newcastle after he’d scored 5 goals in 20 minutes. Here’s what the Argentinian boss had to say;
He had been carrying a knock with his club, during the week we took good care of him. He was moving around the pitch well, but unfortunately he felt some discomfort and we are going to lose him.
I haven’t spoken to the doctor but I can confirm the injury is not the same as the one he had been carrying with his club.
It is unclear the extent of Aguero’s injury, but the club have said he ‘could miss a number of key games as he recovers from injury’.
As soon as we hear anything we will let you know on Read Man City.
