I’m sure you’ve noticed that there’s been a few changes around here! Don’t worry, nothing too drastic has happened, well, actually it is pretty drastic. All of our sites have been re-designed and re-named.
“Why has everything changed, I feel uncomfortable?”
Where do I start? Three years ago I founded Fresh Press Media with Dan and we knew at the time we wanted to scale it to the size we are now; but we weren’t quite sure how we were going to do it and how long it’d take. I sit here now tapping away on my keyboard with a round of investment closed, three full-time staff and a network of thirty websites that look pretty fabulous.
But why the change of website names? It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made and that’s because I’m so fond of the individuality of each of the websites; they each had a charm about them, character even. However, as we grow as a network we needed to form a unified brand that underpinned everything we do. We thought of a few of the reasons people came to the websites and agreed that they ultimately came to ‘read’ things. So now we’re Read Everything. Everything’s about read. You’ll know that because you’re currently reading the words that I’m typing.
Anyway, more about the new sparkly websites. Let me try and give you a bit of a guided tour…
Over here you have the ‘write for us page’, it can also be found in the top right of every website we have. This means that *finally* people can submit articles to us quickly, easily and with all the blogging tools at their fingertips. Your articles will be submitted to our editorial team and then published when they are deemed suitable. That’s pretty great. But what’s even prettier and greater is how people can now blog on it. It basically does it all for you; bar thinking about it and typing it out. Drag and drop in images, tweets, YouTube videos and much more. We wanted to make it the least effort possible because we know how long an article usually takes to write.
Next we have our writer profile pages (this is for writers who have signed up and written an article). Mine looks a bit like this… On this page you can see how many articles this writer has written, how many reads they’ve got, what level they are on the network and of course how wonderful they look in their picture. I’m looking dashing in my photo, I know.
You may have seen our all-new home page too which we think looks quite lovely with all the striking images from around the world of football. It’s pretty easy on the eye if you look at it on mobile or tablet too.
I’d like to say thank you to everyone that has supported the Fresh Press network from its infancy and through its growth these last few years. There’s plenty more to come; we’ve only just got going.
PS. if you ever forget that your favourite websites have changed names and accidentally type in the old one into your browser, don’t worry – it’ll come right back over here. We thought of that and everything.
