City are set to battle it out with Manchester United and Chelsea for Paul Pogba in the summer, with the Mirror reporting all three are in for the £75 million midfielder.
Reports have been getting stronger in recent weeks that the Frenchman could be on his way out of Juventus, with both his agent Mino Raiola and the club hinting that he will leave when the time is right, and the fee is sufficient. This has alerted a number of clubs, not just in England but across Europe too.
Now, the Mirror are reporting City will do battle with United and Chelsea in a bid to bring him back to England – even if he would cost £75 million. That fee probably balances out over time as he becomes even better and if he stays for a long time, the transfer becomes better value for money.
Of course, City are likely to be looking for a replacement for Yaya Toure in the coming transfer window, and with Pogba supposedly on the market that could put him at the top of the City list, as well as a number of other young players for various positions.
Pogba has steadily become one of the hottest young talents in football since he left United two-and-a-half years ago, in what many believe is Alex Ferguson’s biggest transfer mistake at Old Trafford. He joined Juventus and is now a regular in Serie A, having already won two league titles there.
Paul Pogba has played 16 games in Serie A this season, scoring 5 goals from midfield.
