# Man City scouts watch Nicolò Tresoldi score hat-trick amid transfer interest

**City scouts reportedly watched Nicolò Tresoldi score a hat-trick for Club Brugge as the Premier League club continue to assess the highly-rated striker.**

City were among several English clubs represented in Belgium as Brugge faced Sint-Truidense, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle also understood to have scouts in attendance. Tresoldi gave them plenty to watch by scoring all three goals in his side’s 3-2 victory.

## Man City continue to monitor Tresoldi

[TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/chelsea-man-city-sunday-scouting-mission-club-brugge-striker-nicolo-tresoldi-exclusive) had reported before the game that [Manchester City](https://readmancity.com/) and Chelsea planned to watch the forward, with Graeme Bailey subsequently confirming City were represented in Belgium. The interest is understood to form part of City’s longer-term assessment of their options at centre-forward rather than preparations for an immediate bid.

Tresoldi’s performance only strengthened an increasingly impressive record. The 22-year-old has now scored 12 goals in 14 appearances this season, having also hit a Champions League hat-trick against Inter Milan earlier in October.

City are far from alone in monitoring him, with interest developing across the Premier League and elsewhere in Europe. That level of attention could eventually create significant competition for a player who only joined Brugge from Hannover 96 in 2025.

A January transfer appears unlikely, however, with [TEAMtalk reporting](https://www.teamtalk.com/arsenal/nicolo-tresoldi-january-transfer-club-brugges-decision-belgian-record-fee-demand-exclusive) that Brugge have no intention of selling midway through the season. The Belgian club are also expected to demand more than the €40m national transfer record when the time does come to consider offers.

There is no indication City have opened talks or decided to pursue a deal, so their presence should be viewed as part of the club’s scouting work for now. Tresoldi could hardly have done much more to make an impression, though, with a hat-trick in front of representatives from some of England’s biggest clubs.
