# Man City news: Haaland boost, accounting inquiries and Kane transfer revelation

**City received a major Erling Haaland boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa, while developments away from the pitch have also made the headlines.**

Enzo Maresca has discussed the possibility of fielding Haaland alongside Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki, while there has been a fresh development surrounding the accounting issues arising from City’s Premier League financial case. Elsewhere, Kyle Walker has revealed just how close Harry Kane came to joining [Manchester City](https://readmancity.com/) in 2021, and Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has name-checked the club while discussing Alex Scott’s future.

Here are Thursday’s main City stories.

## Haaland fully available for Aston Villa

Maresca has confirmed that Haaland is “100% available” for Saturday’s Premier League game at Villa Park after the striker remained on the bench for the 5-1 Champions League win over AEK Athens. The City boss also believes Haaland, Foden and Cherki can play together, although he stressed that his selection will depend on the game plan.

## Walker reveals Kane wanted Man City move

Former City defender Walker has revealed that Kane wanted to move to the Etihad during the club’s pursuit of the Tottenham striker in 2021. Walker said the transfer came “very close”, although the two clubs were ultimately unable to agree a deal. City subsequently signed Erling Haaland the following summer.

## Bournemouth owner name-checks City over Alex Scott

Bournemouth owner Foley has also brought City into the conversation surrounding Scott’s future. Foley said Bournemouth have not given up hope of convincing the England midfielder to sign a new contract, but acknowledged that players can be attracted by clubs such as City and Chelsea.

City were among the clubs reported to have shown interest in Scott during the summer, although there is currently no indication that they are preparing a January bid.
