# Man City news: Haaland, Foden, Bouaddi and Etihad

**[City](https://readmancity.com/) return to Premier League action against Ipswich Town on Saturday as Enzo Maresca’s side look to respond to their midweek defeat by PSG.**

Friday has brought Maresca’s pre-match press conference, including updates on Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, while Ayyoub Bouaddi received significant praise from the City manager. Away from the pitch, Etihad Airways has also responded following The Athletic’s attempt to contact all 41 of City’s commercial partners after the Premier League commission findings.

Here are Friday’s main Man City stories.

## Maresca discusses Haaland workload as Foden returns

Maresca has admitted City will need to manage Haaland’s workload during a demanding period, although the striker will be in the squad against Ipswich. Haaland has scored 10 goals in nine appearances this season and became City’s record scorer in the Champions League proper with his double against PSG.

Foden is available again after completing his three-match domestic suspension. Maresca says the England international has trained well and must now decide whether to start him on Saturday.

## Maresca delivers glowing Bouaddi verdict

Maresca also praised Ayyoub Bouaddi after the 18-year-old impressed from the bench against PSG. Bouaddi was introduced at half-time with City trailing 3-0 and helped produce a much-improved second-half performance.

Maresca described the midfielder as a “fantastic player” and highlighted his ability to improve the players around him, giving the City boss another option ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

## Etihad responds after sponsors contacted

Etihad Airways has reaffirmed its commitment to City after The Athletic contacted all 41 of the club’s listed global and regional commercial partners following the Premier League commission findings.

Thirteen companies responded, with Etihad providing one of the strongest statements. The airline rejected any suggestion that it had knowingly been involved in improper arrangements and said its commitment to City remains strong. The commercial partners themselves have not been accused of wrongdoing.

## City prepare for Ipswich

City’s immediate focus is now Ipswich and the opportunity to make it seven wins from seven in the Premier League. Maresca’s side remain top after a perfect start domestically, despite their unbeaten run in all competitions ending with Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat by PSG.

Ipswich have historically caused City problems, leading the overall competitive head-to-head with 28 wins to City’s 25, although City have won the past three meetings and scored 14 goals across them.
