# Maresca sends ‘noise’ message after Man City win at Liverpool

**Enzo Maresca says[City](https://readmancity.com/) must learn to deal with hostile away crowds after Sunday’s 3-0 win at Liverpool.**

City were jeered throughout their first game since the independent commission’s verdict in the Premier League financial case, but [second-half goals from Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki secured a 3-0 win at Anfield](https://readmancity.com/2026/10/11/liverpool-0-3-man-city-doku-haaland-match-report/).

Maresca said his players knew they would have to deal with a difficult atmosphere and expects more of the same in future away games.

## Maresca: Our noise is to win games

“We need to learn how to deal with the outside noise,” Maresca said. “Because of the situation the noise will always be there. At the same time we need to try to make our own noise. That is to win games, like we have done today. At the end of the game our fans were singing, so the noise was from us and not from the environment.”

Maresca admitted City had problems during the first half before making changes after the break.

Doku replaced Iliman Ndiaye in the 57th minute and was involved in all the decisive action that followed. Ryan Gravenberch received his second yellow card for bringing him down five minutes later before Doku helped create Haaland’s opener and then scored City’s second.

Cherki added the third in the 78th minute. [Doku received our highest player rating after his performance from the bench](https://readmancity.com/2026/10/11/man-city-player-ratings-liverpool-doku-cherki/).

Maresca said the result was important across the club after a difficult few weeks. “It’s good for us as a coaching staff, good for the players, for the fans, the organisation,” he said. “This kind of win is good for all the club.”

The victory maintained City’s 100% start to the Premier League season, with Paris St-Germain next up in the Champions League on Wednesday.
