# Jude Bellingham set for new Real Madrid deal amid Man City links

**Jude Bellingham is reportedly moving closer to signing a new Real Madrid contract amid claims that the England midfielder has no interest in joining City.**

Bellingham is already tied to Madrid until 2029, but talks are underway over fresh terms that could extend his stay at the Bernabéu even further.

According to Fichajes, the 23-year-old is expected to renew his contract and currently has no interest in leaving Madrid for [Man City](https://readmancity.com/) or another Premier League club. The claim has also been picked up in today’s BBC Sport transfer gossip, although there is no suggestion that City have made a recent approach or offer for Bellingham.

## Bellingham looks set to stay in Madrid

City’s admiration for Bellingham isn’t new. They were among the clubs interested in signing him before he left Borussia Dortmund for Real Madrid in 2023, when the Spanish side agreed an initial €103m deal.

Bellingham has since become one of Madrid’s most important players and has started the new season with three goals and two assists from eight appearances. He has also been given a more attacking role since Jose Mourinho returned to the Bernabeu this summer.

[BBC Sport recently looked at the change](https://bbc.com.im/sport/football/articles/c86xj375x2yo), with Mourinho explaining that he no longer wants Bellingham carrying the defensive workload he had previously and has instead been using him primarily as a No.10.

Reports linking City with the England international resurfaced during the summer, but there has been nothing to suggest a move was close. Madrid were already protected by a contract running until 2029. If Bellingham now signs another long-term deal, there appears little prospect of that changing any time soon.
