£5 to watch Man City’s next generation against Norwich

Watching Premier League football has rarely been associated with the word bargain, but City are offering younger supporters the chance to see the next generation against Norwich for just £5.

City begin the defence of the Carabao Cup at the Etihad on Thursday night, with adult tickets on general sale for £20 and under-18s able to attend for £5 in standard seating areas.

That already makes it a relatively inexpensive night at a Premier League stadium, but the team Enzo Maresca selects could make it particularly interesting.

Maresca has confirmed that Ryan McAidoo, Kaden Braithwaite and Floyd Samba will all be involved against Norwich.

McAidoo has already made two Premier League appearances this season, while Braithwaite featured against Crystal Palace. Samba is the one still waiting for his senior City debut, although Maresca has made clear that his opportunity will come.

“When we started pre-season we had many young players,” said Maresca. “At the end we decided to keep these three players because we think they can improve training with us and then they can get some minutes.”

City have spent plenty assembling one of the strongest squads in the country, but cup nights can still offer a glimpse of what is coming through underneath.

For £5, some young supporters at the Etihad on Thursday might even get to say they were there at the beginning.
